How to Get Cheap Stellar Jade in Honkai: Star Rail: Free Sources, Best Value and Pity

Stellar Jade pays for every warp in Honkai: Star Rail. HoYoverse never discounts it, but a lot of it is free, and some purchases give far more Stellar Jade for your money than others. This guide lists both, explains how much Stellar Jade a limited 5-star really costs, and shows the traps to avoid.

Free Stellar Jade: daily, weekly and every version

• Daily Training: finishing the daily tasks gives 60 Stellar Jade a day. It is the most regular source in the game.
• Missions and exploration: Trailblaze Missions, Adventure Missions, treasure chests and new maps pay Stellar Jade once.
• Events: every version brings limited events with Stellar Jade rewards, often the biggest free source of the version.
• Endgame: Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction and Apocalyptic Shadow each pay up to 800 Stellar Jade for all 12 stars. Each mode runs for 6 weeks, and they are staggered, so one of them resets every 2 weeks.
• Redemption codes: each Special Program livestream gives 3 codes of 100 Stellar Jade, so 300 in total. Redeem them on the official gift page or in the phone menu, "..." > "Redemption Code" (on iOS, use the website). They expire quickly.
• Embers Exchange: Undying Embers, earned from duplicate pulls, buy 5 Star Rail Special Passes and 5 Star Rail Passes each month.

The best value if you pay

If you spend money, small recurring purchases give much more than Oneiric Shard packs:

• Express Supply Pass: 300 Oneiric Shards at once, then 90 Stellar Jade for each day you log in, for 30 days: 3,000 in total. A missed day is lost, so it only pays off if you play every day.
• Nameless Glory (the paid battle pass): 680 Stellar Jade at once and 4 Star Rail Special Passes per version, earned as you level it by playing.
• First top-up bonus: the first purchase of each Oneiric Shard pack gives double shards. HoYoverse has reset this bonus at each anniversary so far: Version 2.1, Version 3.2 and Version 4.2. Look at the shop before buying: each pack shows whether its bonus is still there.

Regular shard packs without the bonus give far fewer Stellar Jade for the same money: keep them for last.

How much Stellar Jade for a limited 5-star?

• 160 Stellar Jade buy one Star Rail Special Pass, and Oneiric Shards convert to Stellar Jade at a 1:1 rate.
• A 5-star is guaranteed by warp 90 at the latest on the Character Event Warp.
• The first 5-star is a 50/50: if it is not the featured character, the next 5-star is. The Light Cone Event Warp works the same way with 80 warps and a 75/25.
• Worst case for a limited character: 180 warps, which is 28,800 Stellar Jade.

What to avoid

• Unofficial top-up sites selling Oneiric Shards "cheaper": these offers often rely on stolen cards or refunds. When the payment is reversed, the shards can be removed and the account suspended. Buy only in the in-game shop or on the official stores.
• Fake code pages or "free Stellar Jade" generators that ask for your login: official codes never need your password.
• Regular packs first: buying them before the Express Supply Pass and the battle pass is the most expensive way to get Stellar Jade.

Another option: start with the Stellar Jade already there

If you want a limited character now rather than after months of saving, a Honkai: Star Rail reroll account starts with a large stock of Stellar Jade on a ready account, on the server you choose. You change the email and password after delivery, then warp on the banner you want. All options are on our Honkai: Star Rail page.
