Umamusume: Pretty Derby is all about support cards: the right SSR cards decide how strong your trainees become. This guide explains Carats, scouting and the spark system, how rerolling works, and why an Umamusume starter account with Carats and SSR cards already in the box saves hours.

Carats and scouting

  • One scout costs 150 Carats, a 10-scout costs 1,500 Carats.
  • The base SSR rate is 3%, and every 10-scout gives at least an SR on the tenth pull.
  • Each scout gives exchange points. At 200 scouts on the same banner (30,000 Carats), you can exchange them for the featured card or trainee. Points do not carry over to the next banner, so commit to one banner at a time.

Quick math: 110,000 Carats is about 733 scouts, enough for three full sparks.

What to reroll for

Most guides recommend spending reroll pulls on the support card banner, not the trainee banner. Speed SSR cards are the usual first target, and Kitasan Black is a classic pick. Several copies of the same card make it much stronger, which is why stacked copies are valued.

How to reroll in Umamusume

  1. Install the game and finish the tutorial.
  2. Claim the mail and beginner gifts.
  3. Scout on the support card banner.
  4. Keep the account if you get the cards you want, otherwise delete the data and start again.

Each attempt takes a while, and good results are rare at a 3% SSR rate.

Japan or Global?

The Japanese and Global versions are separate games with their own accounts, banners and schedules. Japan is ahead in content; Global is in English. Pick the one you will actually play. Our Umamusume page lists both.

What a starter account gives you

  • Japan options: a large stock of Carats plus 20 to 35 SSR support cards already in the box, and up to five 3-star Umamusume.
  • Global option: Kitasan Black ×5 with Carats and more SSR cards.
  • Full access: you receive the login details of the account.
